Every time I try to import the demo content (using BT Import), it gets to 20.6% then gives an error. I increased the Memory in php.ini but still get the same error.

    Hi Andy,

Thank you for purchasing our themesmile.png

It is possible that demo is still being imported, it just takes longer time due to the server settings. When you try to import demo, open Media Library in another tab, and see if images are being uploaded. If so, demo will import, it might just take some time.

Each time the error appears, stop the import, go to Media Library, remove empty thumbnails, and then try importing demo again.

Repeat the process till demo is fully imported.

Also, please make sure to keep all third party plugins deactivated during demo import! Only theme's required plugins should be active.

Let us know if you need additional help.

I've done everything you suggested and it's still not working. I need you to import the demo or I need a refund.

    Hi,

Please note that demo import depends on your server settings.

On shared hosting environments  there is an issue with the resources dedicated to a single instance of Shared Hosting. While trying to prevent a single instance to compromise others in Shared Hosting environment, they set the limits too low. Especially limits related to memory and processing power.

In order to import the demo in such environment the only solution is to repeat the import over and over again. The import is incremental process and eventually it will finish (it usually takes 30 or more retries since it will crash on the import of each image larger than aprox 60kb).

When you try to import demo, open Media Library in another tab, and see if images are being uploaded. If so, demo will import, it might just take some time.

Each time the error appears, stop the import, go to Media Library, remove empty thumbnails, and then try importing the demo again.

Repeat the process till demo is fully imported.

What you can try, as the last option, is to import demo through a regular WP importer (not with BT Import), although we are not sure if that will work.

You should be able to extract demo xml file from demo_data folder in the theme (\wp-content\themes\estato\demo_data).

Extract the xml file, and upload it using regular WP importer (Tools >Import >WordPress). Click ‘Upload file and import’. On the following screen make sure that ‘Download and import file attachments’ is checked. Click ‘Submit’ button and wait until import is finished.

Let us know of the outcome.
