    Hi guys,

    I have a Grid Element, inside a Column, plain and simple. ( http://www.apparquitectos.com/home-2/ )
From what I gathered that Grid Element just goes to the Portfolio area and pulls out the latest portfolio items (from newest to oldest). Not good enough... ;)
If possible, how can I determine which (and by what order) Portfolio items will appear in the Grid Element?

    my best, Carlos

PS — Ah, yes, the other day I forgot the "Next" and "Previous" buttons below the Portfolios... Where are those lines of text located, so I can go there and translate them?

    Hi Carlos,

The theme doesn't have that type of functionality, so in order to manage the posts that way we suggest that you try using some third party plugin. For example:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-types-order/

Please note that this is only a suggestion, as we haven't tested this plugin with our theme.

In order to change text of 'next' and 'previous' button, please edit single-portfolio.php file in \wp-content\themes\craft-portfolio folder on your server. In that file, locate following lines of code, and edit them according to your needs:

    $prev_next_html .= '<span class="nbsItem"><span class="nbsDir">' . esc_html__( 'previous', 'boldthemes_framework_textdomain' ) . '</span><span class="nbsTitle">' . esc_html( $prev->post_title ) . '</span></span>';

    and

    $prev_next_html .= '<span class="nbsItem"><span class="nbsDir">' . esc_html__( 'next', 'boldthemes_framework_textdomain' ) . '</span><span class="nbsTitle">' . esc_html( $next->post_title ) . '</span></span>';
    See the attached screenshots:

    It worked just fine!
    Both of them.
    Thanks a lot.

Let me just add another quick issue here... :)

Please, take a look at this portfolio here.
    http://www.apparquitectos.com/portfolio/junta-de-freguesia-de-marvila/
When the page is loading the images load, one by one, in full size instead of small squares. This is more visible when there's a lot of images, because only when the last image finishes loading then they go to their natural format. It's quite annoying... Can't they load in their exact size, i.e., as small squares?

    My best, Carlos

    Hi Carlos,

Could you please check if some third party plugin is affecting the images?

On our demo images are loading in thumbnails, not in full size.

I'm not so sure about that...
If you watch closely (http://craft-portfolio.bold-themes.com/main-demo/portfolio/barcelona-style/) in this Barcelona portfolio it's also happening. But your demo images are low res so it happens really quick, in a glimpse. Ours are high res (and in some projects quite a lot) so it takes a lot more time to load, hence it annoys much more... :(

Regarding the plugins, I also don't feel that's plugin related. I deactivated some (that I don't need) and kept the ones I really need > Craftportfolio Plugin, Post Types Order (no, it has not started after I installed this one... :D this was a problem from the start), Bold Builder and Meta Box.

    Any ideas?

    My best, Carlos

    ____UPDATE_____
I went and deactivated the Meta Box plugin and the images just vanished. Without the plugin I only have the text and the Featured Image, the rest (basically everything I did in the Portfolio Settings' area) just vanishes. So, there is a relation between Meta Box and the images mosaic, right? Maybe there's a line of code somewhere that solves my problem?

    Hi Carlos,

We are not able to replicate the issue in our environment. We will have another look, and get back to you tomorrow.

Regarding the Meta Box plugin, it is a required plugin, and it needs to be activated in order for the theme to work properly.

    Hi Carlos,

    Thank you for your patience.

We inspected the issue, and the reason why the images are displaying that way is due to the page loading time. The images are loaded one by one, when the page is first loaded, so that is why they appear like that.

What you can do, in order for this to work, is to either enable preloader in Appearance >Customize >General Settings.

Or enable full screen overlay on the posts.

Let us know if you need additional help.

Unfortunately, neither of the proposed options solved my problem... :(
    — The preloader is not a option. My client does not like it, and to be quite honest neither do I.
    — And the "Show Fullscreen Overlay Gallery" was already enabled. I went and disabled it, just to see the difference, and it basically shows the first image, fullscreen, but you still have to wait for the rest of the images to load (though you not see them). Still annoying... :(

I guess I'll just have to live with it.
Or wait until you guys can find out a solution. ;)

My best (btw, still loving the theme!), Carlos

    Hi Carlos,

That is strange. If the preloader or even full screen overlay are enabled, they should allow for the images to load prior to them being visible to the site's visitors, so they shouldn't be displaying one by one.

You can see the example here - http://craft-portfolio.bold-themes.com/main-demo/portfolio/paris-example/.

If you need help with anything else, please let us know.

  • carlosvieirareis replied

Yes, but you see, that Paris example has one wide image, with text on top of it, and the tinted effect; it's all that that keeps the visitor distracted while the rest of the images load. Only then you scroll down, or click the X, and go to the portfolio. That's ok, and effective, but that's not the way we want it (nor the preloader, nor the tinted entrance). We want to go directly to the portfolio, and see the thumbnails load, one after the other, the grid gallery as it is. And only then click (or not) on the images to go to the caroussel with the big images and the arrows to navigate.

If you can think of a way to make it happen, fine. If you don't, no problem. :)
    My best, Carlos

    Hi Carlos,

    Thanks for the clarification.

The gallery grid in portfolio posts is a part of another plugin included in our theme, but not directly developed by us, so for now we probably won't be working on this.

Once again, thank you for understanding.
